MARKET LITERACY

A price is a number. Context makes it useful.

Read market cap and 24-hour changes without mistaking a snapshot for a forecast.

Ask where a price comes from

Aggregated prices combine venues using provider-specific methods. They may differ from an executable bid or ask on an individual exchange. Check the source, quote currency, update time, and methodology.

Separate market cap from available liquidity

Market capitalization is generally price multiplied by circulating supply. It does not describe how much cash has entered an asset or how much can be sold at the quoted price. Supply estimates can also change.

Use changes as observations

A 24-hour percentage change describes a past window. It is not a probability of future returns. Our market table shows sourced CoinMarketCap snapshots via the retained CryptoTrades data service. Retrieval and quote timestamps are separate. Cached or stale data is labeled, and unavailable values stay blank rather than becoming invented quotes.
