COOKIES & DEVICE STORAGE
Cookies & Local Storage
What CryptoTrades stores in your browser, why it is used, and how to manage it.
Scope and last update
Updated October 29, 2026. This notice covers CryptoTrades.com, including the manual portfolio tracker and the retained sponsorship form. It complements our Privacy Policy. Cookies and local storage are different technologies, but both can store information on your device.
Manual portfolio storage
Name: cryptotrades.portfolio.v1. Technology: first-party browser local storage. Purpose: remember the holdings, manual prices and average costs you enter in the portfolio tracker. The saved object also contains a format version and last-saved timestamp. It is used to provide the portfolio-saving feature you request; it is not an advertising or audience identifier.
The application writes this key when you save, edit, import or clear holdings. It reads an existing record when you open the tracker. There is no automatic expiry: it remains until replaced or removed, or your browser clears site data. The tracker does not upload holdings to CryptoTrades or sync them between devices. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to read them.
Remove or retain your portfolio
Export a backup from the tracker before removing data if you want to keep a copy. The control below removes only cryptotrades.portfolio.v1 from this browser and origin. It does not remove downloaded backup files, newsletter records, security cookies or data saved on another device.
Close or reload other open portfolio tabs after removal. They may still hold a copy in memory and could save it again if you edit them. The tracker's own Clear portfolio action saves an empty portfolio record; the control on this page removes the record itself. Browser site-data settings can also remove it.
Security and sponsorship services
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. The retained sponsorship form loads Cloudflare Turnstile when its online inquiry service is available, to distinguish abusive automation from legitimate requests. This can process browser and network signals even when no cookie is set.
Cloudflare may issue security cookies during particular challenge flows. For example, cf_clearance can record a successful security check. Whether it is issued and its lifetime depend on the active Cloudflare settings and challenge; it is not a marketing preference. We do not claim that every visitor receives it. Check Cloudflare's cookie and Turnstile notices linked below for service-specific details.
Protected administration has separate access controls and may use authentication cookies when authorized staff sign in. Those cookies are not needed to read public educational pages. No security or authentication controls are disabled by this notice.
Analytics, advertising and consent choices
The current Next.js frontend does not install advertising pixels or optional analytics scripts. The October 29 source review and sample of public HTTP responses found no application-set cookies on the checked pages. This is a limited observation, not a guarantee about every browser, Cloudflare challenge or future configuration.
Some retained services have separate operational or aggregate measurement features described in the Privacy Policy. A technology's name or the label 'analytics' does not itself determine whether consent is needed. We have not added a blanket accept banner for technologies the current frontend does not use.
If optional storage or tracking requiring consent is introduced, it must remain inactive until you choose it. Rejecting it must be possible, and withdrawal must be available. Newsletter consent is separate: signing up does not authorize unrelated device tracking.
Other websites and your browser
Following a source or provider link takes you to a site with its own privacy and storage practices. Your browser can block or remove cookies and site data; doing so may prevent saved portfolios or security checks from working. Blocking cookies alone may not remove local-storage records.
For questions or privacy requests, contact info@CryptoTrades.com. Do not send wallet recovery phrases, private keys or account passwords.
Manage saved portfolio data
This removes the saved portfolio on this browser only. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.
Security cookies are controlled by your browser and Cloudflare. Newsletter choices are managed through your email unsubscribe link.
