How to read this comparison

The pricing evidence is asymmetric: one requires your signed-in rate, while the other publishes a standard entry tier. Treat an unavailable number as unknown, not zero.

Fee scope and limitations

Coinbase Advanced

The public help page does not supply a universal rate. It directs customers to their account for rates and qualification criteria. Pair-specific schedules can apply. Check the official schedule ↗

Kraken Pro

Snapshot uses the standard Spot Crypto Tier 1 row ($0+ volume), not special-pair pricing or Instant Buy. Higher qualifying tiers can change the rate. Check the official schedule ↗

A $1,000 trade, in perspective

A numerical comparison needs the Coinbase rate shown in your account. We have not verified that private account information and will not estimate it. For any confirmed rate, the fee on $1,000 is $1,000 × (rate ÷ 100).

These examples exclude spread, slippage, funding, withdrawal, network, and other charges. A subsequent sale is another trade. Lower percentage fees do not establish lower total costs.

Before choosing a platform

Record your Coinbase maker and taker rates, then verify your Kraken pair and tier. Enter the same trade amount and execution role in the fee calculator.

  • Verify your location, legal entity, account eligibility, and intended trading pair.
  • Check custody terms, withdrawal controls, recovery methods, and any asset-transfer restrictions.
  • Compare the full deposit-to-withdrawal cost. Do not deposit extra assets or trade more just to qualify for a cheaper fee tier.

What remains unverified

Actual execution quality, liquidity at your trade size, support response times, solvency, and your account-specific terms. Provider documentation is evidence of what the provider publishes, not independent proof of safety. We do not name a “best” or “safest” exchange.
