How to read this comparison
Start with location, then costs. The Gemini closure notice is more consequential for an affected resident than any difference in the published fee schedule.
Fee scope and limitations
Coinbase Advanced
The public help page does not supply a universal rate. It directs customers to their account for rates and qualification criteria. Pair-specific schedules can apply. Check the official schedule ↗
Gemini ActiveTrader
Snapshot uses the ≥ $0 spot row in the schedule dated September 1, 2026. Stablecoin pairs have separate pricing. This is not Gemini Mode pricing. Check the official schedule ↗
A $1,000 trade, in perspective
A numerical comparison needs the Coinbase rate shown in your account. We have not verified that private account information and will not estimate it. For any confirmed rate, the fee on $1,000 is $1,000 × (rate ÷ 100).
These examples exclude spread, slippage, funding, withdrawal, network, and other charges. A subsequent sale is another trade. Lower percentage fees do not establish lower total costs.
Calculate your own fee scenarios →Before choosing a platform
Confirm your jurisdiction and selected pair first. Compare your signed-in Coinbase rate with the Gemini tier you actually qualify for; do not substitute a simple-buy fee.
- Verify your location, legal entity, account eligibility, and intended trading pair.
- Check custody terms, withdrawal controls, recovery methods, and any asset-transfer restrictions.
- Compare the full deposit-to-withdrawal cost. Do not deposit extra assets or trade more just to qualify for a cheaper fee tier.

What remains unverified
Actual execution quality, liquidity at your trade size, support response times, solvency, and your account-specific terms. Provider documentation is evidence of what the provider publishes, not independent proof of safety. We do not name a “best” or “safest” exchange.
